Virus infection prevention

  • Keep the software versions up to date and enable the automatic update settings.
  • Be sure to update the antivirus software pattern files, etc., and keep them up to date. If you are using paid software, also check your contract status. (May need to be updated annually)
  • Please do not click on URLs (links) in messages such as emails, bulletin boards and Facebook / Twitter.

Internet banking measures

  • In the formal procedure, you will not be asked to enter all of your password, random number table (second password), secret question (password), etc.
  • When receiving a one-time password by e-mail, do not use a free e-mail address but use the e-mail address of your mobile phone.
  • If your financial institution offers a security token service, consider introducing it.
  • Check your deposits and withdrawals regularly for unauthorized transfers and logins, and check your login status.

For details, please see the website of each financial institution or contact the window of each financial institution.

To avoid phishing damage

Financial institutions never ask for an ID, password, random number table, etc. by e-mail. Do not enter any information when you receive such an email.

~ What is a random number table ~
A table that prints numbers and letters in squares. Some internet banking uses it as a second password (double authentication).

~ Billing ~

I received an unrecognized site usage charge email

  • Please check the contents of the e-mail and make sure that you have used the site, including your family. If you do not remember using it, please do not pay easily.
  • Don't panic if there are words in the body of the email that incite anxiety, such as visiting your home directly or taking legal action. If you become anxious or pay when you do not want to be involved, you may be charged more.
  • If you reply to the email or call the contact listed in the email, you will be sharing your personal information, such as your email address and phone number. If you give this information to others, you may have more trouble.

Clicking the button on the homepage suddenly displays the billing screen

  • If the billing screen is displayed suddenly, check that the terms and conditions are posted on the website before clicking. If you do not have this, it is difficult to understand, or if the usage fee is not specified, you can claim invalidity of the contract.
  • In addition, if the business operator has not taken measures such as setting up a contract confirmation screen before applying, he / she can assert that the contract has been invalidated by mistake.
  • There are sites that display their IP address and mobile phone model, etc., and pretend to have paid personal information, and are approaching the payment of fees. However, this alone is not enough for personal information such as e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, addresses, etc. Will not be grasped.
  • Don't pay until you know you have to pay. If you are anxious or do not want to be involved and pay once, you may be charged more.
  • Please do not contact the partner site. If you reply by phone, email, etc., you may be persistently charged.
  • Please keep your site address and billing emails as evidence just in case.

If you find it to be unreasonable ...

  • Please ignore that charge in the future.
  • If you are uneasy or threatened, please consult the Consumer Affairs Center, the Akita Prefectural Police Cyber Crime Consultation Service, or the nearest police station.
