Overview of the system
This is a system in which when a My Number card holder is issued a new My Number card due to the expiration of their My Number license, the license information is recorded on the updated My Number card. This means that the newly issued My Number card can continue to be used as a My Number license. The same applies to those who hold a My Number career certificate.

September 1, 2020
Eligible people
・Those whose My Number Card's validity period is less than three months away from expiry
・Those who have run out of space for additional notes on their My Number Card
Conditions for continued use of My Number license, etc.
1. Applying for a My Number Card online
2. You must have submitted your electronic signature certificate to the police in advance.
3. When applying for a My Number Card online, you will request the issuance of a digital signature certificate for your newly issued My Number Card.

Things to keep in mind
If any of the following applies, you will not be able to use the system to automatically transfer license information.
Also, please note that even if you apply to continue using your My Number license, you may be issued a new card that does not have your license information recorded on it.
1. If you apply by mail, at a municipal office (including express applications), or using a photo ID machine
2. If you are applying due to loss, damage, or expiration of your My Number Card
3. If the name or address contains characters that cannot be used in a digital signature certificate (some external characters)
4. If there is an error in the license information record number/driving history information record number entered when applying online
5. When the license is suspended, revoked or expired
