Procedure for renewing driver's license

* Even if you only need to change your address at the Senboku Police Station, please note that the reception hours will be until 16:00.

Guidance of license operation on Sunday

From July 2018, we will start handling driver's licenses in the morning of the second Sunday of every month. (However, if there is an event on the second Sunday, it may be changed.)

    • For foreign nationals, a resident card with their nationality listed

  • Initial renewal course 1,350 yen
important point Those who have lost their licenses and are renewing at the same time as changing their address from outside the prefecture will not be able to apply for Sunday procedures at the Driving License Center. A license will be created with the application photo, so if you prepare photos in advance, please bring a clear identification photo.
Foreigners may be asked to check their residence card, passport, etc. during the procedure.
Procedure flow
  1. Accept at the automatic update reception machine.
    • Persons with address change from outside the prefecture
    • Those who have lost their license
    • Those who apply before the renewal period

    Will be accepting you at the 6th window.

  2. In the aptitude test room, a visual acuity test (large, medium-sized, towing and type 2 license holders also have a deep visual acuity test) will be conducted.
  3. After judging and registering, we will take a picture.
  4. After taking a photo, you will take an excellent class (30 minutes), a general class (60 minutes), and a violation / first class (120 minutes) according to the classification.
  5. After the course, you will receive a license at the same place and finish.

  2. At the time of acceptance, we will fill out the required information on the update application form, confirm the application content, and then perform an aptitude test.
  3. The course date is specified, and a license will be issued after taking the course.
  4. Until the license is issued, the validity period of the old license will be extended.
